A Journey of Growth and Consistency

As we wrap up our afterschool program, I couldn't be more proud of each and every one of our participants.

This week, we learned one of the most powerful lessons: Consistency. The sum of all their actions, no matter how small, added up to something truly remarkable. Everyone put in the effort, stayed dedicated, and completed their beautiful pillows, earning well-deserved certificates along the way.

It’s amazing to see how their hard work has paid off, not just in the final product, but in the growth they’ve shown throughout this journey. This experience will stay with them as a reminder that consistency brings big rewards.

Trusting the process isn’t always easy—especially when trying something new. This week, we experienced a wave of emotions: excitement, accomplishment, frustration, and even the urge to give up. But despite the challenges, no one quit.

Here’s what we gained through knitting:

✨ Resilience & Problem-Solving – When things got tough, they didn’t stop. Instead, they found solutions and kept going.
✨ A Supportive Community – Kids not only encouraged one another but also put their own projects on hold to help a friend gain confidence. It happened organically—a true testament to the power of teamwork.
✨ The Joy of Completion – That rewarding moment when we step back and see the beauty of our finished work.
✨ Emotional Growth – Learning to navigate frustration, be patient with ourselves, and embrace the process.
✨ Confidence Through Perseverance – Every mistake became a lesson, and every challenge turned into a stepping stone for success.

Today, @wovenintent_ participated in an after-school program, introducing 1st–5th graders to the art of knitting! 🧶💫 We explored all the amazing things yarn can create, the joy of making things by hand, and—most importantly—embraced the golden rule: every piece of art is a limited edition! 🎨✨

I’m beyond proud of their excitement, dedication, and progress! By the end of the session, everyone mastered a slip knot (👏🏽), started knitting, got homework to practice 📚✂️, and left ready to teach their parents how to knit! How beautiful when learning is shared. 🥹💛

Can’t wait for next week’s project!

@wovenintent_ had the honor of partnering with @yesgirlscreate_inc to inspire girls and women to use yarn as a tool for soothing and creating.

Seeing their excitement as we talked about knitting warmed my soul—so many hands raised, eager to engage.

Each girl received a 🦋 WIN bracelet as a reminder to keep winning the sport of life.

I’m incredibly grateful for the thoughtful artwork they made for me—truly the best reviews I could ever receive!
